Full time or part time. Summer only or full season.

Two Good Farms CSA (also known as Emerald Meadows Family Farm) is a certified organic vegetable farm located near Columbus, Wis. We currently grow produce on 12 acres to feed 100+ CSA families and sell at four Madison area farmers markets.

We are seeking a crew lead as well as field crew employees, either full-time or part-time, to work on the farm and at our market stands. Our typical working hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, although that can be flexible and may be adjusted due to weather and work needed. Some Saturday hours will be required in order to staff our market stands.

Daily/weekly tasks will include weeding, seeding, transplanting, harvesting, trellising, washing produce, irrigating, preparing for markets, packing CSA boxes, and delivering CSA shares to multiple sites.

Field crew requirements:

• Must be willing to work in all types of weather.

• Farm duties require lifting, standing, and bending for considerable amounts of time, so physical fitness is essential.

• Able to work well within a team and on your own at times.

• Ability to listen to directions and successfully implement them into work.

• Past farming experience is helpful, but not required.

• Able to openly communicate with supervisors and team members.

Crew lead requirements (in addition to above requirements for general field crew members):

  • Ability to effectively communicate with and direct others, as well as take directions and explain to crew after discussions with lead farmer.

  • Basic experience with/knowledge of crop maintenance (seeding, transplanting, trellising, weeding, irrigation) preferred.

  • Farming experience especially preferred for this position, as this employee will be expected to be the leader when the head farmer is not available.

Pay is $14+ per hour for general field crew and $16+ for crew leader, based on experience. Daily lunches provided, as well as lots of delicious produce to take home!

In addition to the above requirements, we are looking for people who are genuinely interested in farming and learning new skills, and for those who are willing to commit to the full farming season.
